Today, Catalyst for Payment Reform (CPR), an independent, non-profit employer coalition working to drive improved value in health care, released their 2014 National Scorecard on Payment Reform. The scorecard reports a 29-percentage point increase in provider payments linked to provider performance and outcomes instead of fee-for-service arrangements. These risk arrangements are evolving rapidly and the market is responding to employer demand and the collective efforts of CPR. However, with this level of swirl comes an increased need for financial vigilance by employers so that they are sure they have visibility into these varying arrangements and that members are benefiting from them.
